Walking through the artistictly free and colorful alley ways of the San Franisco mission district, I was on a mission to find the perfect canvasas to hit up and represent Dilligence Clothing. And the results were very natural with a perfect blend of the dilli street feel, vibe, and look. I was able to set in place the perfect scenario for this SF Dilli bombing which will be the first of many to come in the future.

$3 million luxury camper is a 40′ mobile mansion

The Chevy Corvette car and speedboat hybrid might be the slickest amphibious vehicle on the planet, but when it comes to campers, nothing compares to the luxury the Elemment Palazzo offers. The mere mention of campers and RVs invokes images of cramped living quarters that can house only your essentials. But the Elemment Palazzo with its lavish fixture and ornate designs obliterates that notion completely. As it should, what with a coronary-inducing price tag of $3 million.
Austrian company Marchi Mobile designed Palazzo as part of its Elemment line of luxury vehicles that very visibly displays the trappings of wealth. You'll see in Palazzo what you never thought you'd see inside an RV. Master bedroom with an adjoining bathroom? Check. Leather interior? Check. Rainfall shower, fireplace, and 40" TVs? Check, check, check.

Impressive enough as it is, it doesn't end there — the 40' long Palazzo also has a pop-out bar replete with a skylight and underfloor heating that you can activate by pushing a single button. The bar adds 80% more room to the camper's original 430 square feet floor space. When it comes to the exterior side of things, you may or may not be glad to know (depending on how you feel about it) that the Palazzo is covered in glow-in-the-dark paint

The 20-ton Palazzo can reach speeds of 93 mph, and uses 20% less fuel than vehicles of comparable size due to its aerodynamic design. The designers at Marchi Mobile say Palazzo is completely customizable, and if you have more money to spare, they'd welcome any outrageous modifications, going as far as to cover it in diamonds.

SOLE TECH TO PUT 'ES ON HIATUS

Sole Technology is putting its brand éS on hiatus, Sole Tech owner Pierre André Senizergues told me in an interview today.

He said the move will make the company more efficient and allow it to devote more resources and focus to Sole Tech’s other brands: Etnies, Emerica, Altamont and ThirtyTwo.

“It’s a very complex market right now - there are a lot of brands, and a lot of pressure on the market,” Pierre said. “We feel it's the time to simplify things.

És was founded 16 years ago, and offered a skate shoe with a more athletic aesthetic, sophisticated materials and higher price points. It debuted in the 1990s, when the skate market was very different. Currently, it is Sole Tech’s second smallest brand, ahead of Altamont, a skate apparel brand launched five years ago.

Sole Tech will deliver éS product through Spring 2012. Then the brand will go on “creative retreat,” Pierre said.

“At the end of the day, it’s about being ready with the dynamic of economy, being focused and pushing what’s the best,” he said. “And what needs adjustment, you put back in the garage and retool it before relaunching it at the right time.”

As a result, some employees were notified today they are losing their jobs. Pierre did not want to give a specific number, but said less than 20 positions are being eliminated. Sole Tech employs approximately 400 people worldwide.

“It’s always heartbreaking,” Pierre said. “We love the people we work with, we hire them because we believe in them and want to give them a great future. It’s a tough call to make but feel it’s one we have to make at this moment.”

Sole Tech will honor the éS skate team contracts, Pierre said.

The changing industry landscape

While the dynamics of the market have changed, especially with the large conglomerates entering the space who “see it from an accounting perspective rather than from the passion of riding a skateboard, or surfing, or snowboarding,” Sole Tech is proud that it is still independent and is all about skateboarding, he said.

“We were born in skateboarding, we were born in the action sports industry, and we are doing it because we love it,” he said. “Being private has allowed us to be very authentic and share the passion, and it’s been a real one.”

I asked Pierre just how hard it is to compete in today’s market against better-funded, larger companies. Pierre is the sole owner of the company and says he has no plans to bring in outside investors.

“It is hard – it would be easier to do it like everyone else is doing it I think,” he said “But we want to stay real and pure.”

San Francisco-based brand HUF has been a moving force in the streetwear industry since the brand’s first store opened in 2002. Founded by pro-skateboarder Keith Hufnagel, the HUF clothing line has been instrumental in terms of setting a West Coast urban aesthetic, however, it can be easy to forget that before the label existed, Keith’s store had to flourish. And flourish it did – becoming a mecca for exclusive and limited-edition sneakers, clothing and accessories and opening up a satellite location in Los Angeles. Now, nearly 10 years after opening its now-closed San Fransisco location, HUF has announced that its LA store will also close, leaving no retail locations left and effectively ending its physical presence as a brand. We unexpectedly lost our lease recently at our HUF LA shop on Fairfax, and unfortunately closed its doors this past Sunday. We are all bummed about it, and will miss being on the block and all the good times we had at that shop… But change happens and we will keep cruising on and making great stuff. This upcoming year will mark HUF’s 10-year anniversary as a brand, which we will celebrate with the release of exclusive collaboration projects throughout the year. You can still pick up HUF products at your local HUF dealers, and can always find us right here on our website. We hope to be able to reopen HUF retail shops again in the future, but at this time are not sure when or where… We will keep you posted. As for now, our time and efforts will continue to be entirely devoted to perfecting the brand and its product. We could never have foreseen how rapidly the brand would grow since its beginning, and would like to sincerely thank all of you who have walked through our doors in any of our shops over the last decade. Sometimes the industry of skateboarding can take itself a little bit too serious and I understand why. There's a lot of passion rolling around on those four wheels and for as much as the people like to talk about how skateboarding isn't about the money, when you're a business, sometimes it has to be about the money. No single company can operate at a deficit, unless you're the US government. Mixed in with all that passion there has to be a little bit of a businessman inside us because no one in the industry grew up wanting to be an insurance salesman because that's no fun and skateboarding is. So, to celebrate that fact, and to prove you can have it just about anywhere when you have a skateboard, Grant Yansura created this new segment titled; Off the Grid. Kanye was living the high life at the Cannes Film Festival when he got a chance to stroll around in the $1.7 million vehicle. Whether the car is his or he just borrowed it for the day – rich people get to do that – the star sure seemed to fit right into the leather-trimmed interior.

The Mercedes SLS Stirling Moss is powered by a 5.5-liter supercharged V8 from the 722 SLR, which makes 650 hp. Without a windshield, this roadster can still hit a rip-your-face-off top speed of 217 mph. The 0-60 mph sprint can be made in less than 3.5 seconds. With this type of speed and no windscreen or roof, Kanye may need a little more than those dark sunglasses to shield him from the whiplash he’s sure to get when he gets the SLR out on the open road.

As you may already know, we have been working on our new website and I am proud to say that it's finally finished!
I wanted to get as personal as possible with you guys by recording this really raw video from home, messed up hair and all. haha
